Balykchy Solar
Power Plant
Project Overview
About the Project
The Balykchy Solar Power Plant is a 300 MW utility-scale photovoltaic installation located in the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan, near the western shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. Spanning 400 hectares of semi-arid terrain, the project delivers clean, grid-connected power at scale while creating over 500 local jobs during construction and operations.
Silex EPC is responsible for full EPC delivery, encompassing site preparation, tracker and module installation, inverter stations, medium-voltage collection networks, and a dedicated substation for grid integration. The project employs bifacial PV modules on single-axis trackers to maximize energy yield across all seasons.
As one of the largest solar installations in Central Asia, the Balykchy plant represents a significant step in Kyrgyzstan's renewable energy transition — reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 450,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually and providing reliable electricity to over 200,000 households.
